It’s our fifth birthday! It’s hard to believe how far we’ve come in such a short time, with over 100 people now involved directly in the charity providing direct bereavement support to an ever growing number of clients (almost 500 people a year) – and the website has been key to that growth. Using the latest online tools we enable more people than ever to get the help they need. As well as access to our helpful literature and to our Help and Support line we provide new facilities for bereaved people to talk to each other online in the new Chat room, ask questions or discuss matters important to them through the Forum or perhaps leave a memorial, poem or picture of the person they’ve lost in our Memories section
The “Latest News” tells you what activities are currently taking place in the charity – the 2012 programme for our popular “Music in the Park” concerts will be launched soon, after our 2nd Annual Carol Concert - but if you want really up-to-the-minute news you can also find out what’s happening at Hold out a Hand using Twitter and Facebook: we are gearing up for a new generation that will need bereavement support, and we want to make sure they can find us quickly and easily - the right support in the right place at the right time
Hold out a Hand continues to look for new ways to help the bereaved and have a wide range of services that our clients have asked us to provide including:
Bereavement counselling and befriending
Help and Support line and signposting to relevant agencies and organisations
Literature
Drop-in evenings and courses on “Coping with Bereavement”
